MMWR: Vaccination Coverage Among Kindergartners for the 2019-20 school year

  1. 94.9% for the state-required number of doses of diphtheria and tetanus toxoids
  2. and acellular pertussis vaccine (DTaP)
  3. 95.2% for 2 doses of measles
  4. mumps
  5. and rubella vaccine (MMR)
  6. 94.8% for the state-required number of varicella vaccine
  7. 2.5% of kindergartners had an exemption from at least one vaccine
  8. 2.3% were not up to date for MMR and did not have a vaccine exemption
Notes: The national estimate was based on a survey of 3,675,882 kindergartners, or 91.3% of the national Kindergarten population. Alaska did not report kindergarten vaccination coverage because of problems with data collection.
